Are you interested in an administrative career in a healthcare field? Working the front desk of a medical office requires strong organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to solve problems. Throughout this course, you'll learn about office reception skills, general day-to-day operations, and effective communication techniques. This class will have a strong focus on learning and using medical terminology. Regular access to a computer/internet will be required. This course is offered through "live online and recorded lecture" classes. Upon course completion, you will be eligible to take the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Textbooks and exam fees are included in the cost of the course. Computer/internet access is required.
This class will be offered as a “online” class. The first class will be a live online session. After that, the instructor may schedule other sessions that will be live throughout the course. Otherwise, all of your course work, including recorded videos will be done at your own pace each week. You will have weekly due dates to complete the work. All students need access to the internet and a computer with a webcam and microphone. Chromebooks, iPads, or mobile phones are not supported for all applications.
