Central Sterile Processing Technician

Prepare for an exciting and rewarding career as a Central Sterile Processing Technician.  This technician plays a vital role in healthcare by de-contaminating, inspecting, sterilizing, assembling, packaging and preparing surgical instruments and devices.  This program combines 100-hours of classroom training with a 120-hour externship and prepares students for certification through the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).  Topics covered include anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, infection prevention and control, tools for cleaning, safety and decontamination.  Successful graduates will have an understanding of central service workflow, basic job knowledge and skills, basic job responsibilities and central service concerns.
