| In this certificate program, you'll examine the various instances of violence that you may encounter in your work as a medical professional. The program begins by examining workplace violence, which is a major source of inequality, discrimination, stigmatization, and workplace conflict. Then it goes on to explore other types of violence including domestic violence, elder abuse, child abuse, and the various forms of sexual assault. In addition, the program takes a close look at one form of violence that is a an important public health concern, pediatric abusive head trauma, also known as "shaken baby syndrome."
